Flick's message to Yamal: "Everything seems easy now, but if you want to play at that level for the next 15 years, you also have to train and work hard."

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has praised the talent of Barça striker Lamine Yamal , whom he describes as "a genius," although he has emphasized that, due to his youth, he will need to help him in the future.

"Lamine Yamal is a genius. But I think we should help him because he's young, and everything seems easy right now, but it isn't. If you want to play at that level for the next 15 years, you also have to train and work very hard. Mentally, you also have to be at the highest level," the German coach explained in an interview with 'Barça One,' the club's official television channel.

In addition to praising the figure of the footballer from Mataró, who this week renewed his contract with the Barcelona club until 2031 , Flick has reviewed other important names in the first team such as midfielder Pedro González 'Pedri' - "he could be one of the leaders in the coming years," he said about the Canary Islander - and striker Raphael Dias 'Raphinha'.

"Raphinha needs confidence. He has quality, but he also has the right heart, mentality, and attitude. He also always helps us defensively. He has a lot of potential," he said of the Brazilian, who has scored 34 goals and provided 22 assists this season.

In the interview, the German coach emphasized that "the greatness" of his job was seeing the excitement of the fans on the celebratory parade of the three titles won by his team (Copa del Rey, Spanish Super Cup, and LaLiga EA Sports).

"We can contribute to others, to the fans, to the players, to keep them happy. Now I have the responsibility to work hard again next season. I feel I have to do it. It's my job, and I'll do it for them," he added.

However, Flick recalled that the road to winning the domestic treble "wasn't easy" for his players, especially between November and December, when Barcelona suffered a string of setbacks that cast doubt on their chances of winning the league title.

"Here in Barcelona, it's as if they were thinking too negatively. We lost, yes, but we played very well. I asked the players to stay calm, to believe in the team, and then we'd see what would happen," he reflected.

According to the Barcelona coach, "quality, hunger, a good attitude, and mentality" are the keys to a team that, he emphasized, has "a lot of potential."

In this regard, he emphasized that "the most important thing" is to analyze what happens in training, where this season he has seen that his players "like to work," something he described as a "good sign." And what Flick is looking for is the "progression" of his players, who next season will try to "play at their highest level" to once again fight for the Champions League, a competition from which they were eliminated in the semifinals this season at the hands of Inter Milan.

"We work hard and try to play at the highest level, and that's the Champions League. We also want to win the title. I know it's not easy, but in the end we have to work hard, but we also have to stay united. We have to show what a great team we are, and we can show that on the pitch, in defense, but also in attack, and that's what I want to see from the team," he concluded.
